[Four photos of a cecropia moth, three as a moth, one as a caterpillar.]

So tonight I managed to ID the caterpillar my sister and I found and raised up when we were wee kids living on the RMC campus in Kingston. It’s a cecropia moth, the largest native to North America, and they’re gorgeous.

To see a full life cycle, check out these photos on WormSpit. We found ours in the fifth instar and gave it food and shelter a place to make its cocoon over the winter. When it emerged in the spring it was incredible. We’ve still got some pictures lying around somewhere of it airing its wings out on my mom’s irises.

My name is Jared, or you can just call me Tchy. I'm a queer aro kid just kickin' around on the internet. I like writing, fantasy, late nights, books, lions, punk, and queer politics. I sustain myself mainly on a diet of chocolate, salt and vinegar chips, and strong tea in a mug decorated with dirty Shakespeare quotations. Sometimes I like to draw inappropriate things.

This is who I am.
This is my face.
These are some tags.
These are some blogs.
Leave me a question.
Leave me something more.

If you need me, I will listen.
