kiriamaya:

As mentioned earlier, I’m having to make some big sacrifices to save up for transition. I’m willing to make those sacrifices. I am also trying to get my business crap underway, and will see if I can get more regular work as well. I’m going to get SRS if it kills me. I’ve got to. My current state isn’t going to be tolerable for much longer.

Please help if you can, either by donating or by signal boosting. This needs to happen, and I’ll be super grateful to anyone who helps.

If you can’t click this link, boost this signal.

Please, it would really mean a lot to me and to my girlfriend. I’m sure that many of you know the pain of dysphoria. I’d really rather not that Kiri have to choose between being able to visit me and being able to get the surgery she needs.

Another request for help with surgery funding

kiriamaya:

So, at the moment, I have about, umm, one twentieth (or so) of the money I’ll need for SRS. In theory, if I somehow get super-rich, I will be able to get surgery as soon as August. It’s just, y’know, the super-rich part obviously isn’t happening. I’m having to work even more than I was in order to save money, and meanwhile my genital dysphoria isn’t getting any easier to deal with. :(

So, once again, I ask you for help. The money donated by my Tumblr followers will go straight into transition savings, and won’t be touched for any other reason (unless there’s some big emergency or something). For the sake of my mental health, I would really like this surgery to happen sooner rather than later, and if you can help with that — either by donating, or by reblogging — I would greatly, greatly appreciate it.

Boost this signal like a megaphone!

Request for advice from other trans women

kiriamaya:

I’ve been trying to decide on SRS surgeons for a while now. I think I have a pretty good handle on all the factors involved, and what kinds of things to look for. Problem is, it’s very hard to find even semi-objective reviews of the various clinics and surgeons, because… well, the majority of trans women who get this done are just extremely happy. Which is understandable! But it’s kinda frustrating when you’re trying to get, y’know, solid information.

So I’m open to suggestions from trans women who have experience with this sort of search. Do you have any recommendations? Is there anything crucial that I should be aware of? Are there any websites you can recommend that will help me narrow things down? Don’t worry about telling me something I already (think I) know; it never hurts to hear it confirmed. :) And please understand that I’m not asking you to do my homework for me; I’m asking you to maybe point me in the right direction, or make recommendations based on your own knowledge/experience which I can then factor into my decisions. :)

Some things to keep in mind if you choose to give me advice:

  • Price is the most important factor by far; however, having said that, I really don’t want to have to compromise appearance and *cough* functionality, either.
  • I live in the US, but I wouldn’t mind traveling (e.g., going to Thailand) if it would save me money overall.
  • I would prefer to have the entire thing done in one shot (i.e., not need additional labiaplasty after the “main” operation), if possible.

Thanks!

Signal boost! I know I have lots of trans* followers, some of whom are equipped to answer these questions. Drop Kiri a line if you can help her out!

I would very much appreciate it if my followers could spread this post far and wide, even if you don’t know the answers yourself. <3

My name is Jared, or you can just call me Tchy. I'm a queer kid just kickin' around on the internet. I like writing, fantasy, late nights, books, lions, punk, and queer politics. I sustain myself mainly on a diet of chocolate, salt and vinegar chips, and strong tea in a mug decorated with dirty Shakespeare quotations. Sometimes I like to draw inappropriate things.

This is who I am.
This is my face.
These are some tags.
These are my people.
These are my minions.
I curate this collection.
I live in the Queer Haus.
I have an Etsy shop.
Leave me a question.
Leave me something more.

If you need me, I will listen.
